The expression, "If these walls could talk," takes on a whole new meaning once you see the B. F. Liddon House in Corinth.
The castle-like home is located at the corner of Webster and Bunch in Corinth.
Constructed by Benjamin Franklin Liddon, the home was completed in 1908.
Described as an “eccentric man,” Liddon was a businessman, architect, and extreme motion picture enthusiast, who hoped to bring entertainment to the young and old.
Exterior characteristics, such as Corinthian columns, intricate stonework, and turrets, have led to the home being called the “most imposing and visually interesting in Northeast Mississippi.”
The Corinthian columns were made from materials imported from New York.
The interior of the home is just as impressive. Mosaic tile floors in varying patterns fill the home.
The 20’ beamed ceilings are another of the home’s notable features.
After being vacant for some time, the home began to attract a great deal of stray cats, leading to the nickname the “Cat House.”
The B.F. Liddon House was recently purchased by new owners and is currently being restored. Follow the home’s progress on Facebook.
