Our furry friends are such a crucial part of our lives, and especially our homes. Several House Beautiful editors are pet owners, and we’ve gotten pretty creative with pet-friendly decor (have you ever seen a TV stand double as a litter box enclosure?). The "Furphy bed," though, is by far the most creative one we’ve seen.

So, what exactly is a Furphy bed? Well, just like in a Murphy bed for humans, a Furphy bed encompasses a soft mattress or sofa padding attached to a door that folds up like a drawbridge. Once it is closed, it resembles a sideboard or cabinet. In particular, we’re excited about this one from Lori Beds, which comes with a washable mattress and a frame in three different wood finishes. It's even multi-functional, folding up to form a side table and housing extra storage with shelving for your pup's favorite toys. It's their own little bedroom, anywhere in your home. Consider it the upgraded version of the doghouse.
